Gary W. Streit, Ph.D., 12th President of Malone University (2007 - 2010)
Gary Streit, Ph.D. was appointed the twelfth president of Malone, assuming the position on July 1, 2007, following the retirement of Ronald G. Johnson, Ph.D. Under his leadership, Malone has achieved record growth in enrollment
and academic programming. Dr. Streit oversaw the 118-year-old
institution’s 50th anniversary in Canton as well as its transition from
Malone College to Malone University. On February 22nd, Dr. Streit announced his retirement.
Dr. Streit came to Malone University from Olivet Nazarene University, where he served in the positions of provost, chief academic officer, and vice president for academic affairs, overseeing major institutional initiatives. Dr. Streit earned the A.B degree in English from Trevecca Nazarene University (TN), the M.S. degree in education-psychology from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and the Ph.D. in English education from the University of Illinois.
