Financial Aid
Following are instructions for filing for financial assistance: YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL STEPS EVEN IF YOU ARE ONLY APPLYING FOR A LOAN.
Step 1: Complete a Malone Financial Aid Application and return it to Malone’s Financial Aid Office. (For financial aid purposes you are considered a FULL-TIME student.)
Step 2: Complete the ENTIRE Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You may file online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Our Title IV school code is 003072.
Step 3: Provide the Financial Aid Office and the School of Graduate and Professional Studies a copy of your employer’s tuition assistance plan if you are eligible for this benefit.
Receipt of financial aid is contingent upon admission to MMP and must be coordinated with your MMP start date.
FEDERAL PELL GRANT
This is a need-based grant based on the results of the FAFSA you have filed.
VETERAN’S AND OHIO NATIONAL GUARD BENEFITS AND ACE’S PROGRAM
The MMP program is approved for Veteran’s and Ohio National Guard Benefits. Contact the Registrar’s Office at
330-471-8431 for information concerning Veteran’s Benefits and the Financial Aid Office at 330-471-8435 for Ohio National Guard Benefits. Officers not eligible for regular benefits may be eligible for the ACE’s program.
FEDERAL SUBSIDIZED STAFFORD LOAN
This is a need-based loan (based on the FAFSA you have previously filed). The interest rate is fixed at 5.6%. Interest begins six months after classes end or you stop attending at least half time. Repayment also begins at that time and can extend up to ten years.
FEDERAL UNSUBSIDIZED STAFFORD LOAN
This is the same as the Stafford Loan program, except that it is NOT NEED-BASED and you, the borrower, are responsible for the interest that accrues DURING the in-school period.
NOTE: Any balance that remains after financial aid has been deducted from the total charges, must be paid in accordance with one of the standard payment plans. Any questions regarding financial aid should be directed to the Financial Aid Office at 330-471-8159 or 1-800-521-1146, ext. 8159.
