In addition to the academic collection, the library maintains special collections in the areas of juvenile literature, curriculum, government documents and the Friends Library which houses historical and current books and documents related to the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).

Of special interest are the historical materials from the university's beginnings as the Cleveland Bible College, and an extensive collection of religion materials.
