"Nursing is an art; and if it is to be made an art, it requires as exclusive a devotion; as hard a preparation, as any painter’s or sculptor’s work. For what is the having to do with dead canvas or cold marble? Compared with having to do with the living body - the temple of God’s spirit? It is one of the Fine Arts…the finest of the Fine Arts."
 - Florence Nightingale 1820-1910

Welcome to the Malone University School of Nursing, where we view a powerful connection between nursing and the expression of the Christian faith. Where it is a privilege to care for all persons across the lifespan. Where many consider nursing to be a calling as well as a choice. Where we strive for excellence in all we do. Where we give our best and expect your best.

If this is something of which you wish to be a part, please consider our nursing programs:

  • Continue your education as you are already a registered nurse and now seeking the BSN degree
  • Advance your education and career by seeking a MSN degree.

Please visit our campus in person, as we would love to meet and talk with you!  Of course, if you have already decided that Malone University is where you belong, complete your application online: BSN, BSN Degree Completion, MSN.
See you soon!

The nurse, as a member of the profession, brings to the practice setting knowledge, skills, and attitudes from which holistic nursing care evolves. The professional nurse has a broad knowledge base and functions in a variety of nursing contexts and practice settings.
The professional nurse has knowledge and skills related to current technology to support the practice and the delivery of nursing care. There are multiple roles of the nurse, all of which may be identified with at least one of the following roles: provider of care, coordinator of care, and the professional.
Through the socialization process a sense of identity and commitment to the profession are developed.
As a professional nurse, there is a commitment to the value of collegiality, the need for lifelong learning, and continual growth toward expert practice. Expert practice by the baccalaureate nurse is evident as critical thinking skills are fully realized in a selected area of specialty over a significant period of time. Expert practice is also evident as the nurse completes a graduate education in nursing and as an advanced nursing practice is established, grounded in theory, and based on empirical findings over a significant period of time.

Regula Hall
The School of Nursing is housed in Regula Hall, Malone's newest academic building. The 30,000 square-foot structure, attached to Mitchell Hall and the Timken Science building, houses classrooms, state-of-the-art nursing and science laboratories, faculty offices, and a café. The building was named in honor of U.S. Representative Ralph Regula (R-Navarre), retired,  of the 16th Congressional District, and his wife, Mary, founding chair and president of the National First Ladies' Library in Canton. Congressman Regula's efforts to secure federal appropriations were instrumental in assisting with the construction of the building.
The dedication of Regula Hall, was May 19, 2007.  A cornerstone verse was selected: “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17 (NIV)

 Center for Study and Testing
The Center for Study and Testing (CST) provides nursing students with a quiet environment conducive to independent, effective learning. The CST houses all teaching learning materials, and is a center which provides students a location to view assigned videos and dvd's, take/retake quizzes and exams, complete Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) (computer programs, CD-roms, web-bases resources and sites), and be tutored.  There are 35 networked computers available for student use.
