Alliance’s Sam Erchick To Play Soccer For Malone University

Sam Erchick, of Alliance and a 2009 graduate of Alliance High School, has recently signed a national letter of intent to attend Malone University this fall and play soccer for the Pioneers.

The 6’1” forward is a four-year letterman in soccer and amassed 74 career goals and 55 assists.  As a junior, Erchick was named All-Ohio, 1st Team All District, 1st Team All-County, and the Northeastern Buckeye Conference Player of the year.  He led Alliance to a district championship and Northeastern Conference Buckeye title.

Erchick’s senior year accomplishments included being named team captain, Stark County Player of the Year, 1st Team All-Ohio, 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-County, 1st Team NBC, and the Review Athlete of the Week.  He was also named to the 2008 NSCAA/Adidas High School Boys All-Region IV (Central) Team. He paced Alliance to a conference title and a district runner-up finish that season.  In addition, he has played in the Greater Akron Premier League and was a member of the Akron Metro Football Club and Cleveland Internationals Soccer Academy.

Erchick is planning on majoring in Nursing at Malone. He is the son of Mike and Lori Erchick of Alliance.
