Hi, this is Chris Carmichael, Head Men's Soccer Coach at Malone University.  On behalf of Malone University, I would like to personally welcome you to attend one of our upcoming recruit weekends which are held for the main purpose of allowing you, the player, to evaluate our team and for our coaching staff to evaluate your technical and tactical skills  for the ultimate purpose of determining your readiness for college level play and for evaluation of being selected to our 2010 squad.  This can sometimes be a very intimidating situation, but I assure you that our team will welcome you and make you feel right at home.  You will find this to be enjoyable so just relax and enjoy the experience.  We have players from Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Canada, Jamaica, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, England, Scotland, Australia, and have players coming from the Ivory Coast and Liberia, West Africa, to name a few.  We are obviously culturally diverse, and also a very young but talented team.  We look forward to seeing you at our recruit weekend and excited to see how you might contribute to our future successes!

Procedure for scheduling to come to a recruit weekend:

Look at the two dates to see if they work with your schedule, and if they both work, please rank them from first to second pick, and then email our assistant coach, Lucas Martorana at which recruit weekend works best, but indicate if they both fit your schedule in case one is full.

Here's the two weekends:

December 4 (Friday) and December 5 (Saturday)

February 12 (Friday) and February 13 (Saturday)

Once you have indicated your preference, we will confirm with you that this has been scheduled.

General Itinerary:  For each of the two weekends, you will arrive on campus at Osborne Hall between 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the main foyer area in the front where we will have players there to greet you and we will then direct you to which player or players will be hosting you for the weekend.  One of our players will escort you to their dorm room where you can get settled, and then get a chance to enjoy a little dorm life, getting a tour, or just relaxing.  We will then eat as a team from 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Specific Itinerary for Dec. 4th/5th Weekend:

The above general itinerary will follow.  And then on December 4th, we will then train from 8:00-10:00 p.m. at the Hall-of-Fame Fitness Center located in Canton (you are welcome to just come to the training sessions if you live locally if that fits your schedule better).  The HOF has turf so outside cleats/boots is preferred.  On December 5th, you will have breakfast and then we will train at the HOF from 9:00-10:30 a.m.  Afterward you may stay for lunch and then you may go home to get rested and get your HS homework up to speed.

Itinerary for February 12th/13th Weekend:

Same as above except on February 12th we will train from 9:00-10:30 p.m. and then on February 13th, from 10:30a.m.-12:00 noon.  Everything else is the same as above.

What to Bring:

Pillow, sleeping bag if available, towel, change of clothes for before and after training sessions, and then your typical soccer apparel (jersey/shirt, shorts, socks, shin guards, outdoor soccer cleats, and a water bottle....we provide the balls).

If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to drop me, Chris Carmichael () or Lucas Martorana () a line at your convenience.  We are here to serve you and help you through this process.  We look forward to seeing you!  Lastly, if you would like to come to both recruit weekends, you are more than welcome to do so and we have had many of our current players take advantage of both weekend opportunities.
