Women’s Tennis Opens Season with 9-0 Loss To Oberlin

The Malone University women’s tennis team, led by first-year head coach Tanya Gombera, suffered a defeat in its first match of the season last Saturday with a 9-0 loss at Oberlin College.

Women’s Tennis Falls to 0-2 on Season With 7-2 Loss To Wooster

The Malone University women’s tennis team suffered its second loss of the season, falling 7-2 to the College of Wooster on Saturday.  Highlights of the match for Malone included Alanna Phillips’ 6-0, 7-5 victory at #1 singles.  Phillips also teamed up with Kim Knisley for an 8-6 victory at #1 doubles.

Women’s Tennis Loses To Aquinas 6-3 In First Match In Orlando

The Malone University women’s tennis team lost the first match of its 2010 spring break trip to Orlando, Florida in a 6-3 loss to Aquinas (MI) College last Saturday.

The number one doubles team of Alanna Phillips (So., Lexington H.S.) and Kim Knisley (Fr., Marlington H.S.) earned a hard-fought 9-8 thriller while #1 singles player Phillips, in straight sets, and #4 Julianna Blaisdell (Fr., Salem, NH), in a come-from-behind super tiebreaker, earned the singles victories for the Pioneers.
