How to Apply for Financial Aid

New Freshmen and Transfer Students

  1. Apply for admission to the college. To receive an application for admission, you may contact the Admissions Department by telephone at 1-800-521-1146 or by e-mail at . You may also submit an on line application. To complete an on line application, ... START HERE .
  2. To get an early start on the financial aid process visit www.fafsa4caster.com.  This site will enable you to see estimated federal student aid eligibility based on the answers you provide on the FAFSA4caster.  This site will also enable you to increase your knowledge of the financial aid process, and provides an opportunity to investigate other sources of aid such as grants and scholarships.  Other benefits of utilizing the FAFSA4caster include automatic generation and email receipt of a Federal Student Aid PIN (Personal Identification Number) in time for use on FAFSA on the web, and it will also pre-populate a FAFSA on the web application for the current processing year.  This by no means takes the place of the FAFSA or guarantees aid; it is only a tool to help you estimate what your federal aid could be.
  3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using FASFA on the Web.  You may also download the FAFSA form at www.FederalStudentAid.ed.gov. or request a paper FAFSA by calling 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243). To complete your FAFSA, choose one of the options below
    • File over the internet at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. If you choose this option, make sure to complete the signature page at the end. The Malone Title IV school code is 003072.
    • Your second option is to complete the downloaded or paper FAFSA and send it to the Financial Aid Office, Malone University, 2600 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton, OH 44709. The Financial Aid staff will enter your information for you electronically. If you choose this option, please include copies of your and your parents' (if you are a dependent student) 2007 federal income tax return(s) (1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, Telefile, or RTFTP). Make sure that the forms are all signed. (Telefile does not have a line to sign. Just sign anywhere on the form). Also, if you or your parents have a very long return, you only need to submit pages one and two with signatures.

The priority deadline for completing the FAFSA is March 1st

Returning Malone Students

If your household does not have access to the Internet, you may request up to three paper FAFSA forms by calling 1.800.4-FED-AID (1.800.433.3243).  Either format, electronic or paper, is acceptable and must be completed by our priority deadline of March 1st.
