As Christian career professionals who care about your student we share the same  goal - to see that your student is equipped to effectively prepare for an internship/career-entry position, connect with potential employers, and transition well from Malone University to a God-directed vocation and/or graduate school. As our President, Dr. Gary Striet stated, “Malone does not just prepare graduates to make a living, but hopefully it prepares the student who come under her charge to make a meaningful life!” Outlined are some of the advantages available to your student when they utilize the services provided by the Career Development Center:

PREPARE

  • Meet with a Career Development Advisor as early as freshman year
  • Take Malone.MyPlan.com assessments and schedule follow-up interpretation appointment
  • Use Malone.MyPlan.com to explore and help decide on a major
  • Gain an understanding of God's call on and plan for their life
  • Recognize vocational abilities, skills and talents
  • Learn to articulate who they are and what they want to do   
  • Maximize career-related opportunities to gain insight and experience in work areas of interest
  • Activate MaloneCareerConnect.com account to view Federal Work Study, part-time/seasonal jobs, internships, career-entry positions, career events and resources   
  • Research graduate schools, companies and organizations nationwide and abroad 

TRANSITION

  • Conduct information interviews with professionals in the field, family, friends and employers
  • Intern / co-op / engage in an experiential learning experiences as early as sophomore year
  • Discover proven job search strategies, tools and resources 

                   

CONNECT

  • Present themselves in a professional and personable manner communicating their career objective
  • Network with employers on and off campus and in class presentations
  • Schedule a videotaped mock interview with a guest employer with a follow-up review appointment
  • Meet with successful alumni during our Alumni Career Chapel and Young Professional Chocolate Fountain Open House events
  • Participate in numerous internship/job and graduate school fairs
